The Seacoast Wind Ensemble is a community concert band based in Exeter. Founded in 1984, the ensemble has approximately 50 all-volunteer members from all occupational trades and professions. SWE performs roughly a dozen concerts every year, primarily within southeast New Hampshire and southern Maine. It also performs in the White Mountains and northern Massachusetts.
The ensemble is committed to providing regular, quality experiences in musical education and performance to qualified members of all ages. Its membership is drawn from a wide variety of communities in the Seacoast region, northeastern Massachusetts and southern Maine.
As part of its dedication to the musical arts, the ensemble awards scholarships to young musicians in the community. It also participates annually in the “Music in Our Schools” program, which gives high school and middle school students the opportunity to perform in concert with more experienced, adult musicians.
